To ensure safe shopping, we use both Stripe and PayPal payment gateway, where you can pay via Credit/Debit cards or via your PayPal account (if you have one).

Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, they make use of best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.

HTTPS and HSTS for secure connections

Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL), including their public website and the Dashboard.

  • Stripe.js is served only over TLS
  • Stripe’s official libraries connect to Stripe’s servers over TLS and verify TLS certificates on each connection

They regularly audit the details of their implementation: the certificates they serve, the certificate authorities they use, and the ciphers they support. They use HSTS to ensure browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

PayPal is highly secure, using industry-leading technology (such as SSL) to keep your information safe. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to PayPal using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).

What makes PayPal so secure?

State-of-the-art fraud models and proprietary fraud engine work together to help stop fraudulent transactions before they happen. In addition, PayPal stays at the forefront of security, developing many anti-fraud technologies every year.

With PayPal, you’ve got the industry’s most experienced fraud team on your side. PayPal processes billions of dollars in payments each year, allowing to continually perfect anti-fraud protections. As a result, PayPal’s loss rate is significantly lower than the industry average. PayPal also works with federal law enforcement to catch criminals.

PayPal is committed to protecting the privacy of users. When you pay using PayPal, recipients never see your bank account numbers or credit card numbers.

We at Aurora London do not hold any of your credit or debit card details anywhere on our website. They are passed securely to our payments processor PayPal for authorisation by your bank.

Please note that to ensure that your credit, debit or charge card is not being used without your consent, Stripe and Paypal will validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will be unaffected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

  • - Check delivery details carefully
  • - Ensure all requested information is correct and complete
  • - Read and agree to the terms and conditions
  • - Try to be delivery-friendly: If you are likely to be out at the time of delivery, try to make a safe alternative arrangement (e.g. with a neighbour or workplace);
  • - Have realistic expectations: allow enough time for goods to arrive (picking, packing, shipping - and sourcing, if not in stock)
  • - Avoid unnecessary / premature enquiries that waste time and money: take advantage of any online support tools (e.g. FAQs, tracking)
  • - Be aware that it takes longer and costs more to deliver to some remote areas
  • - Appreciate that retailers don't 'lend' goods but 'sell' them: If you simply decide you don't want an item, expect to pay the return-shipping bill yourself: generally, returned items must be unused, in good condition and retain their original packaging
  • - Agree in advance with the retailer if you are going to return goods that are faulty or incorrect, then return the goods in accordance with the retailer's instructions: expect that you may be required to pay for return postage, which will usually be refunded by the retailer once the problem is confirmed.
