Mish London was started by Zara Mishon, a Business Studies graduate from London with a passion for fashion, and an enthusiasm for loungewear and nightwear. Their pyjamas are comfortable enough for sleeping, and stylish enough for lounging around in; all in styles and prints to suit your tastes. Their slogan 'We Mish, You Match' comes from their desire to provide you with the opportunity to create your own perfect pyjama sets.
How did the idea for Mish London come about?
When I finished University I began working to a small startup company. Seeing the business coming to life and the work and passion that the owners put into it, I knew this was something I wanted to do myself. I have always loved loungewear and nightwear. Pyjamas are my choice of loungewear as I love nothing more than coming home after a long day and changing in to pyjamas – it’s the feeling of home. I have always found there to be a lack of pyjama items sold separately, and where they are, they are often in prints, styles, and materials not suited to what I am looking for. Many shops and brands offer pyjama sets, however this faced me with the dilemma of buying a set of pyjamas just for the bottoms that I liked, or vice versa, which forever left me with random tops or bottoms left unworn. After having researched this for many weeks, I realised that there wasn't a brand that solved my problems, and I felt that there was a gap in the market to create my own.
As far back as I can remember I have wanted to work for myself, and be the creator of a new brand that was my vision, and also solved a problem that many people have as well as myself.
What makes Mish London different from other brands?
Mish London's main selling point is the ability for customers to mix and match their own perfect pair of pyjamas. Our slogan ‘We Mish, You Match’ indicates how we provide styles to suit everyone that can me matched for the perfect pyjama set. Sets can be created from the ultimate classic comfort pair of pyjamas of trousers and a shirt, to a more sexy, but still comfortable, set of lace shorts with a cami top. In addition to this I have aimed to use a material which is both high quality and comfortable, and all my prints are exclusive to Mish London - all stylish and contemporary for the perfect modern woman.
What defines the Mish London style? OR What are your wardrobe essentials?
Mish London is a lifestyle brand inspiring women to look good, whilst also feeling great. Confidence is key, and whether that is sitting on your sofa by yourself at home or out and about, it always helps to be wearing something you feel comfortable / confident in to make yourself feel great. It shouldn’t always be about impressing someone else, dressing well should be for yourself.
We want women to understand that there does not have to be a choice between looking good and feeling comfortable. We aim to give women the choice of styles so that they can choose their ideal sets that they feel comfortable in. We want women to feel comfortable (literally due to the materials we use), but also in the styles. It is all about wearing what you want to wear, whilst also feeling confident and great for everyone to see, whether it is family and friends or your other half.
What has been the high point of launching the business?
The reaction to Mish London has been incredible. I always knew there was a market for something different in the nightwear sector, however the positive response to the collection and many people revealing that they too struggle to find their perfect nightwear has made me so happy and hopeful for the future of Mish London.
What is next for Mish London?
I plan to expand! My new collection, which will launch this summer. There will be differences in fabric, and slight variation in style to my current collection, but the idea behind the brand will remain the same. The aim is to create a collection which is non-seasonal, and in the near future we will just change prints based on demand. My dream is also to collaborate with designers and brands in the future to create limited edition lines. There are so many possibilities and exciting opportunities.
